Our Living and Dining Room in our tiny wartime Bloor West Village home. While on maternity leave, I had the entire house painted white, with the exception of my children’s rooms. This was the perfect backdrop to layer the creams and whites, and introduce colours through my artwork. I love playing with high shades through accents. Golden tones through my hard accessories; frames, mirrors, hardware, are highlighted against the monochromatic walls.
I love high contrast, and this carpet has huge impact walking into the Dining Room. This allows an introduction of further contrast in the adjoining Living Room.
My husband’s Father’s extensive pottery collection had to be a feature, and this 1970’s wall shelving, painted out into my trim colour, allows a wonderful peak into our Living Room from the main Foyer.
